Welcome, Scott Chatterton

CEI is pleased to have Scott Chatterton join our team as BIM Manager. Scott lives in Vernon with his wife and two teenage boys. A certified REVIT professional, he is currently focused on educating staff on the capabilities of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with a mission to expand their skill sets and their horizons.

Scott was born and raised in Australia, and is a child of the outback. His parents emigrated from Britain to raise their family in the small town of Whyalla in South Australia, then later moved to Brisbane with a brief stop in Coffs Harbour. Like many Australians, Scott is wild about world travel and has visited over 18 countries so far. When he started his North American adventure, his goal was to get as far north as possible and this dream landed him in Revelstoke.

Scott is a true entrepreneur. At the age of 18 he learned the art of screen-printing and sold t-shirts at local flea markets. He also found a hidden and profitable market in making balloon animals, selling them to children at local shopping centres. When his father offered him an opportunity to work for his company hand-drafting houses, Scott took a night course in drafting and then began studying architecture part-time. His passion for learning new technology drove him to become a self-taught Auto-CAD user.

Scott is enthusiastic about staying current and connected in the industry. He is the founder and president of the BIM Mixer, a conference and networking event in Kelowna that attracts over 50 attendees and is held twice a year. His interests also include cycling and snowshoeing with his blue heeler, Boomer. Fun for the whole family includes partaking in a local Ukrainian dance group, where his wife is an instructor. Oi!
