Welcome, Derick Bonifacio

CEI would like to extend a warm welcome to one of our newest team members, Derick Bonifacio. Derick joined the Vancouver studio in May 2012 as an Intermediate Technologist. He is currently working on the Wedgewood Recreation Centre and City Centre Richmond projects.
Derick started his career by taking drafting courses in electrical and mechanical engineering. Intrigued by the attention to detail required by this work, Derick studied Architectural Drafting at Vancouver Community College, quickly followed by programs in Construction Management at BCIT and Project Management at UBC.
At 15, Derick moved to Vancouver from the Philippines. He quickly embraced the Canadian culture by becoming a hockey fan and ardent hockey player. He currently plays beer league hockey year-round at both Burnaby 8-rinks and in Richmond.
Derick loves to travel—especially in warm climates. One of his favourite destinations has been Dubai, where he was particularly captivated by the architecture. He enjoys visiting family in the Philippines, and also spent a few weeks working in Trinidad. If he could live anywhere in the world, one of his top choices would be Australia.
