Marketing Coordinator

Vancouver

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Marketing Coordinator to join our marketing and communications team in our Vancouver studio. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will have the ability to lead award-winning proposal submissions. You’ll really be able to sink your teeth into the process, guiding the design, layout, writing and printing, with support from the rest of the marketing team. You’ll also contribute your creativity to a range of other communications initiatives, including social media, blogging, writing, cultural initiatives and more. This position requires a creative thinker and flexible team player with strong writing ability, excellent organizational skills and an unbridled enthusiasm for innovative marketing.

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (Degree or Diploma) with a concentration in Marketing, Communications or Journalism
  • 3 – 5 years of experience leading proposals, preferably in the fields of architecture, engineering or construction.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Director of Sales & Marketing to establish and apply a solid strategy, clear direction, and airtight messaging to proposal submissions.
  • Track proposal distribution systems (e.g. BC Bid, MERX Canadian Public Tenders) to find EOIs, RFQs and RFPs which fit the company’s overall business strategy.
  • Contribute ideas and content for a range of marketing-communications materials and campaigns, including brochures, direct mail pieces, advertising, PR, blog posts, office cultural events, and much more.
  • Collect, write, edit and coordinate proposal content. Ensure proposal imagery supports the strategy and messaging.
  • Oversee printing and delivery of proposal.
  • Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure the systems required to support winning proposals are in place.
  • Ensure proposal and other marketing materials and content are maintained and consistent with HDR | CEI branding (e.g. project data sheets, project photography and renderings, staff resource summaries, number of staff, LEED APs, staff resumes, staff photos and LEED projects).

Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency with MS Office, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with a focus on written clarity, attention to detail, and proofreading (format, style, spelling and punctuation).

Senior Level Technologist

Vancouver

The Senior Technologist is responsible for working with the Project Manager/Partner to ensure the building conceived during design is fully documented and coordinated.  Utilizing innovative solutions where unique problems exist, the Senior Technologist is responsible for upholding the building design without neglecting building science principles or applicable building codes and regulations during the production of contract documents.

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Architectural/Building Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Architectural Industry.
  • Registration with AIBC is preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide building envelope, building science technical support and constructability assessments for the Senior Architect through all phases of design.
  • Problem solve technical detailing in order to maintain the integrity of the design conceived during the schematic design phase. Communicate and work with the Senior Architect towards a solution when the design cannot be maintained.
  • Establish work plans and provide scheduling feedback for the contract documents phase.
  • Be responsible for the production and coordination of contract documents including developing details.
  • Review and coordinate consultant drawings and specifications.
  • Provide Building Code review and communicate with authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Manage a team for the purpose of producing successful design and construction documentation.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
  • Provide AutoCAD/BIM support and expertise.
  • When a Senior Architect is not part of the project team, additional roles & responsibilities will include:
      • Produce specifications including front-end

Senior Healthcare Clinical Planner

Vancouver and Alberta

Reporting to the Partner-in-Charge, the Senior Healthcare Clinical Planner shall have a strong sense of healthcare clinical functionality as it relates to design. This position requires an excellent understanding of building science, as well as the ability to explore healthcare trends, medical technology, and clinical processes. As a Senior Healthcare Clinical Planner, you will be a representative of the Company to all parties involved in the project. As such, you must be able to communicate the vision and project design necessities persuasively and will be responsible for design continuity, advocacy and leadership through all stages of the project.

Professional Qualifications

  • Professional Architectural degree (B.Arch, M.Arch or similar) from an educational institution recognized by the CACB or other similar accreditation body.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in various healthcare design, construction and planning projects, including large scale healthcare facilities.
  • Registered with the AIBC as an Architect, AIA or similar Provincial architectural licensure.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and design for renovations and new construction of all types of health facilities and related typologies (acute, long-term care, ambulatory care, clinical support services, etc.).
  • Works with and is comfortable organizing and leading user groups off all types and sizes.
  • Responsible for delivering full health facility planning from pre-design through design development.
  • Responsible for communication with other team members, user-groups, vendors and contractors to ensure all information is incorporated into the project requirements.
  • Fosters a positive relationship of trust with client leadership, and the rest of the project team.
  • Direct junior members of the team relating to the creation of all documents relating to the completion of a project. Phases may include schematic design, design development, contract documents, bidding and negotiation and contract administration.
  • Coordinates, delegates and leads project specific architectural design.
  • Assists in reviewing consultant designs and specifications.
  • Maintains a close liaison with design and client groups for questions such as design requirements, local authority design and planning requirements, schedule and project budget.
  • Accountable for project design quality control, project execution, maintaining project timelines and internal work budgets.
  • Responsible to meet or exceed all local authority planning criteria and requirements, bylaws, building codes and statutes.
  • Provides on-site participation during all stages of the project design and construction.

  • A proven track record of clinical planning experience and success.
  • Experience with Public Private Partnerships (P3, PPP, or PFI) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Design-Build and fast-track construction is strongly preferred.

The Contract Administrator is responsible for working with the Associate/Project Manager to ensure the building conceived during design is fully documented and coordinated during the construction stage.  Utilizing innovative solutions where unique problems exist, this position is responsible for upholding the building design without neglecting building science principles or applicable building codes and regulations during the construction.

Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Architectural/Building Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Architectural Industry.
  • Registration with local Architectural Association is preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Chair Consultant’s meeting(s).
  • Liaise with contractors and clients on a “front-line” basis.
  • Attend site meetings and perform regular field reviews including preparing and issuing reports.
  • Reviews Certificate for Payment and Certificates of Completion.
  • Coordinates, reviews and tracks contractor RFI’s, initiates clarification sketches, Supplemental Instructions, Contemplated Change Notices and Change Orders.
  • Provide substantial completion walk-throughs.
  • Oversee commissioning and project close-out process.
  • Investigate problems in completed projects (warranty period reviews), produce technical reports and review deficiencies.
  • Problem solves technical detailing in order to maintain the integrity of the design conceived during the schematic design phase. Communicate and work with the Partner-in-Charge towards a solution when the design cannot be maintained.
