Intermediate Technologist

Vancouver, BC

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Intermediate Technologist, we’ll count on you to:

 

  • Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate the production of all contract documents, specifically drawing and specifications.
  • Problem solve technical detailing in order to maintain the integrity of the design conceived during the schematic design phase.
  • Understand consultant drawings and coordinate drawings between multiple disciplines.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and assist in the administration of the contract (e.g. research and respond to Request for Information (RFI’s), change orders, site instructions, etc.) with efficiency and accuracy.

 

 Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural/Building Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 4+ years of experience in the Architectural Industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit and other necessary graphic applications.
  • Proven working knowledge of local building bylaws, building codes, building materials and building science.
  • Able to interpret conceptual sketches and generate detailed technical drawings based on building science concepts and systems.
  • A proven team player with exceptional interpersonal skills who works well with others in accomplishing objectives.
  • The successful candidate will be an innovative, energetic and solutions-based thinker with excellent organization and technical skills.

Senior Project Manager

Vancouver, BC

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Project Manager, we’ll count on you to:

  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Conduct schematic design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, Project Architects and other disciplines
  • Coordinate workloads with project team through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Work with the Controller and Managing Principal for project reviews
  • Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
  • Perform other duties as needed

 

 

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Experience on healthcare, education and research based projects
  • Registered Architect
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Good planning and mentoring skills

Education Sector Leader

Vancouver, BC

Based out of the Vancouver, BC office, the position is responsible for leading the overall direction of the Education sector in both K-12 and post-secondary for the British Columbia and Alberta offices. The role includes a variety of duties ranging from annual planning, business development and project team leadership.

 

Business Development Responsibilities

 

  • Directs the Education sector in BC & Alberta for annual planning/budgeting
  • Directs development and implementation of relationship-building with school districts, universities and colleges
  • Initiates and develops personal relationships with other target clients and institutions in the Education sector
  • Maintains an active and visible presence in the respective sector
  • In collaboration with other firm leadership,  leads pursuit go / no-go and strategy discussions
  • Directs preparation of capture plans and qualifications for pursuits
  • Directs interview strategies and implementation
  • Develops abstracts and presentations for industry conferences, seminars, workshops, and other similar events promoting program messages, research, project outcomes, lessons learned, trends, etc. related to educational facility design.

 

Project Responsibilities 

 

  • Serves as Project Director on projects (as appropriate)
  • Supports the Managing Principal and Project Managers with the preparation, negotiation and award of project contracts
  • Provides client oversight throughout project execution, including conformance to client expectations for technical/quality, financial and schedule performance
  • Assists with project close-out and post-occupancy evaluations
  • Maintains client relations following completion of projects
  • Provides leadership of concurrent projects and related multidisciplinary teams – planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of projects
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to staff to assist in their career development
  • Supports Managing Principals and Project Managers in enabling project team performance and project success
  • Works closely with assigned Project Principals and Project Managers to meet client expectations, and on major projects, may serve as the Project Manager or Project Principal
  • Participates in monthly project financial reviews
