Senior Interior Designer

Vancouver

Who you are:

A creative, energetic senior interior designer, who possesses the expertise to initiate projects and organize the delivery of services required to complete them.

 

You are able to provide oversight and guidance to project team members, as well as manage client relations, project schedules and budgets. Additional responsibilities may include programming, planning, design development, project management and contract administration.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop project goals and requirements in conjunction with the client.
  • Determine level of formal programming or informal information gathering required to commence project.
  • Create project charter/program.
  • Determine how to meet project goals – define staff requirements, timelines and project deliverables.
  • As project leader, maintain regular client communications throughout the duration of the project.
  • Determine client meeting schedule, lead meetings and presentations.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and other written communications and directives.
  • Create project concepts and determine aesthetic approach.
  • Generate space plans.
  • Develop the design of interior architectural elements.
  • Manage project from start to finish.
  • Provide guidance and input to staff working on the project.
  • Review and supervise staff work in order to maintain design integrity through the development of contract documents.
  • Work with authorities having jurisdiction to interpret and conform to codes and bylaws.
  • Coordinate engineering and sub-consultant activity.
  • Select products to round out the interiors such as furniture, lighting, finishes and artwork.
  • Keep current of innovative projects, materials and products.
  • Be knowledgeable of public versus private client procurement procedures.
  • Complete projects in a timely manner and maintain a high standard of work quality and positive client relations.
  • Keep PIC informed about project progress or problems.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional design skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Self-directed and able to follow through on projects from start to finish.
  • Design leader who works well with others in accomplishing objectives.
  • Conceptual thinker.
  • Able to develop concepts through design development, interior detailing and specifications.
  • Knowledgeable of interior design products, sources and procurement procedures.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Xcel, Microsoft Office, Revit an asset.
  • Knowledgeable of local building bylaws, building codes, building materials and building science.
  • Understanding of construction and the construction administration process.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience in the field of contract interiors.
  • NCIDQ certified.
  • LEED AP Certification is an asset.

Marketing Coordinator

Vancouver

Who you are:

An enthusiastic and energetic Marketing Coordinator wanting to join a fun, hard-working marketing and communications team in our Vancouver studio.

 

In particular, we are looking for a marketing star with the ability to lead award-winning proposal submissions. You’ll really be able to sink your teeth into the process, guiding the design, layout, writing and printing, with support from the rest of the marketing team. But it won’t just be proposals. You’ll also contribute your creativity to a range of communications initiatives, including public relations, social media, blogging, brochures and more.

 

This position requires a creative thinker and flexible team player with strong writing ability, excellent organizational skills and an unbridled enthusiasm for innovative marketing.

 

As the ideal candidate, you possess:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications or journalism.
  • Two to four years’ experience in a related position. Previous experience in architecture, engineering, construction or other professional services firms is an asset.
  • A supportive, collaborative spirit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent proofreading and quality control.
  • A good eye for layout, graphics and imagery.
  • An interest in architecture.
  • The ability to handle many projects and frequent deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Intermediate Technologist

Vancouver + Victoria

Who you are:

An experienced, hard-working and energetic intermediate technologist who can take a lead role in the development of building designs and documents for all types of projects, from schematic design through construction documents. In this role you will:

  • Aid in the development and preparation of building designs and documents.
  • Prepare building code analyses and summaries for projects and validate that designs conform to code prescriptions and any other specific regulations such as local bylaws.
  • Aid in the preparation of  technical specifications for building projects.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants or any other project participants.
  • Coordinate drawings between multiple disciplines associated with projects.
  • Lead project meetings and issue meeting documentation.
  • Visit sites in order to gather essential data for the design and implementation of projects.
  • Review shop drawings and participate in contract administration relating to proposed change notices, change orders, site instructions or requests for information.
  • Assist and supervise junior technologists or drafters.
  • Research new and existing construction methods or technologies to aid or enhance building designs and/or building performance and be able to present the information to clients, design architects, and project managers.

Intermediate Architect

Victoria

Who you are:

An experienced, hard-working and energetic intermediate architect who can work collaboratively with the Senior Architect and other team members to facilitate the production of all documents relating to the completion of a project. In this role you will:

  • Prepare design and construction drawings as directed by senior staff with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain project needs and timelines set by the Project Manager/Senior Architect and communicate the same to the client and other team members.
  • Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical and other disciplines and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Submit reports and specifications as requested.
  • Work independently while seeking the appropriate level of input to propose and develop solutions for the project.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintain a high standard of work and quality that demonstrates clarity and accuracy.
  • Develop a solid knowledge base across all phases of design and construction through work experience and with continuing education.
  • Keep the Senior Architect informed about project progress or problems.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with client, Consultants, contractors and team members.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and graphic application skills, working knowledge of Revit is an asset.
  • Knowledgeable about design and development processes, technical detailing principles, construction systems, local building codes and regulations, approval processes, and professional practice regulatory framework.
  • Strong graphic/visualization and hand drawing skills.
  • Knowledgeable about local building bylaws and building technology.
  • Knowledgeable in the interrelationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Possesses working knowledge of sustainable practices.
  • Maintains proficiency in areas of responsibility to ensure job functions are accurately and thoroughly performed.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Well developed interpersonal skills, proven team player and works well with others in accomplishing objectives.
