We're on the hunt for:

Junior (Intern) Architect or Architectural Graduate

Vancouver

Who you are:

A recent graduate or junior (intern) architect with one to three years’ experience in the industry and an architecture degree (B.Arch or M.Arch) who can assist senior architects with all aspects of project production, from program approval to project implementation. You have a strong sense of design, good understanding of sustainable design practices and a can-do attitude. In this role you will:

  • Work with the Project Manager or Senior Architect and other team members to facilitate the production of all documents from 3D presentations and physical models to detailed construction drawings.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintain a high standard of work quality that demonstrates clarity and accuracy.
  • Complete all administrative tasks such as printing and filing.
  • Keep the Project Manager/Senior Architect informed about project progress or challenges.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Effective written and verbal communications skills, with a focus on written clarity and attention to detail.
  • Excellent AutoCAD and graphic application skills. Working knowledge of Revit is preferred.
  • The ability to interpret conceptual sketches and generate design development drawings and details under the direction of senior staff.
  • An understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of local building bylaws and building technology.
  • Skills in model making, graphic design and a general awareness of design principles and aesthetics.
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks of varying complexity, meet deadlines and exhibit grace under pressure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills as a team player and a collaborator for accomplishing objectives.

Junior Technologist

Vancouver

Who you are:

A junior technologist with the ability to support senior staff with all aspects of creating contract documents. You have a diploma or degree in architectural or building technology from a recognized post-secondary institution, and one to three years in the architecture industry. You are versatile, collaborative and eager to learn. In this role you will:

  • Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate the production of all contract documents and various other tasks as directed by senior staff.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as preparing presentation material, printing, organizing and coordinating drawings for submissions and consultant exchange, and filing.
  • Interpret conceptual sketches and generate technical drawings and details under the direction of senior staff.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintain a high standard of work quality that demonstrates clarity and accuracy.
  • Continually improve skills in the preparation of technical drawings.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the interrelationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Keeps the Project Manager/Senior Architect informed about project progress or problems.

Your attributes:

  • Fluent in the latest versions of AutoCAD and Revit with supporting skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop and In Design is an asset.
  • Able to interpret building bylaws.
  • Competent in building technology and understands the basic construction techniques.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to follow through on short and long term tasks.
  • Well developed interpersonal skills, proven team player and works well with others in accomplishing objectives.
  • Must possess good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Intermediate Technologist

Vancouver

Who you are:

An experienced, hard-working and energetic intermediate technologist who can take a lead role in the development of building designs and documents for all types of projects, from schematic design through construction documents. Healthcare experience is an asset for this position.   In this role you will:

  • Aid in the development and preparation of building designs and documents.
  • Prepare building code analyses and summaries for projects and validate that designs conform to code prescriptions and any other specific regulations such as local bylaws.
  • Aid in the preparation of  technical specifications for building projects.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants or any other project participants.
  • Coordinate drawings between multiple disciplines associated with projects.
  • Lead project meetings and issue meeting documentation.
  • Visit sites in order to gather essential data for the design and implementation of projects.
  • Review shop drawings and participate in contract administration relating to proposed change notices, change orders, site instructions or requests for information.
  • Assist and supervise junior technologists or drafters.
  • Research new and existing construction methods or technologies to aid or enhance building designs and/or building performance and be able to present the information to clients, design architects, and project managers.
