WinSport Canada Athletics and Ice Complex presented to an international audience
Last October, Mark Hentze of CEI and David Swanson of GEC Architects presented the WinSport Canada facility, newly completed in Calgary, Alberta, to the IAKS Congress in Cologne, Germany. The project was featured in a showcase presentation of Canadian elite sport and training venues that was chaired by Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu of the IOC and President of the International Boxing Association. It also included the Richmond Olympic Oval by Cannon Design and the Community Centre at Hillcrest by HCMA.
The WinSport presentation provided a detailed overview of overall project dynamics, components, and history by GEC’s David Swanson, followed by Mark Henze’s in-depth examination of the design features of the Hockey Canada component, which features flexible world class training environments for male, female and sledge teams who represent Canada at international competitions.
